Some briefs you remember. Andrew and Pia's was one WhatsApp message long, and it made my week. Here is how their Haycroft Farm wedding in the KZN Midlands went.
Booked from a friend's wedding
Andrew and Pia booked me after a close friend's wedding in 2023, where I happened to be the DJ. From then on it was easy: planning went smoothly, messages were quick, and they trusted me to bring their idea to life.
Haycroft Farm venue detailsThe brief
In the run-up to the wedding, Pia sent me a WhatsApp that I still smile about.
“I want the dancefloor to feel like a dodgy nightclub.”
Pia
Turning the barn into a club
With intelligent lighting, battery-powered uplighting and my full sound setup, the venue became the party space Pia asked for.
From the first track to the last song
It was everything a wedding should be: lots of laughing, loads of energy and dancing that did not stop. The floor was electric from the first song to the very last one.
Why I love this job
Every couple has their own vibe. My job is to take that and turn it into music, sound and light, and nights like this are the reason I do it.
A note for couples still planning
Booking your wedding DJ early is one of the most important calls you will make. Most couples lock in their DJ 12 to 18 months ahead so they get the suppliers they really want.
If you are getting married in the KZN Midlands, Haycroft Farm or anywhere nearby, and you want a dancefloor people talk about (dodgy nightclub or otherwise), I would love to hear from you.
