About Brahman Hills

I have played at many events at Brahman Hills over the years, and it is a venue I always look forward to coming back to — the lake at golden hour never gets old.

Brahman Hills sits in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands just off the N3 at Upper Notties, a short drive from Nottingham Road. Rolling hills, a lake and established gardens give you the setting; the estate gives you everything else in one place, which is why so many couples make a weekend of it rather than a day.

There is more than one room to marry in. The Lake House chapel seats up to 220 and sits right on the water, and the smaller Cove Chapel takes 100. For the reception, the Glass House caters for 100 to 400 guests, with the Lake House, The Oasis and the Skyfall Restaurant & Wine Cellar covering the more intimate numbers.

Guests stay on site — hotel rooms, Classic Villas, Honeymoon Villas and the new Signature Villas — so nobody is driving the Midlands roads at midnight. That single fact changes the whole shape of a night, and it is the main reason the dancefloor here runs later than most.

The Glass House

A big, glassy room that can swallow sound if it is under-powered. I bring enough system to fill it properly at 400 guests and still keep the speeches clear at the far tables.

Ceremony on the water

The Lake House chapel needs its own discreet system for the vows and readings — separate from the reception rig, so nothing is being carried across the estate mid-afternoon.

Guests staying over

Nobody is watching the clock for a lift home, so the last hour here is usually the best one. I plan the back half of the night around that rather than winding down early.

We honestly could not have asked for a better DJ and MC than Jarryd!

From the moment we booked him, he was incredibly organised, professional and hands-on throughout the entire planning process. He made us feel completely at ease, paid attention to every detail, and ensured everything ran exactly as we had envisioned on our wedding day.

As both our DJ and MC, Jarryd kept the day flowing seamlessly while creating such an amazing atmosphere. The music was absolutely spot on from start to finish, the dance floor was never empty, and the energy all night was incredible. Our guests are still talking about how much fun they had!

The biggest testament to how good he was? We ended up extending our reception until 1:00 a.m. because nobody wanted the night to end! Jarryd was so accommodating and kept the party going with the best music and the best vibes.
