About Wingrove Valley
Wingrove Valley is a farm-style, family-run venue on Bisley Road, tucked into a green valley just outside Pietermaritzburg in the heart of the Acacia Thornveld. It sits on an old working farm, and the setting — open grassland dotted with acacias, running down to the dam — is the whole point of the place.
There are two chapels, the Chelin Chapel and the Forest Chapel, plus open-sided ceremony spaces that look straight out over the water and the hillside. Daniel and Tamlin Goodall run the venue themselves with a small team, and an on-the-day wedding coordinator is included in every package.
The reception is a proper farm barn: tall concrete gable end, pitched roof dressed with draping and fairy lights, polished floor and a sliding barn door onto the valley. It is a big, generous volume that lights spectacularly and rewards a system that has been set up for it.
